Xpiva

This page shows exactly how Xpiva asks patients for permission to send them text messages, and the words they are shown when we ask. It exists so anyone — a patient, a mobile carrier, or a regulator — can see the consent step without signing in.

Where we ask

Every patient is asked in one of two places, and the wording is identical in both:

  • In the patient portal, at https://www.xpiva.com/portal. A checkbox appears on the patient's own record. It is unchecked when the record is created.
  • In person at the collection site, where laboratory staff read the same wording aloud and record the patient's answer on their record.

The consent we ask for

This is the form a patient fills in. The mobile number and the consent tick are on the one form: the number entered here is the number the patient is giving permission to text.

This is the checkbox as a patient sees it, with the wording beside it word for word. On the patient's own record it is never pre-ticked, and consent is never a condition of receiving laboratory services. It is shown ticked here only so the control is visible on this page.

What we send

  • Appointment reminders, with the option to confirm, cancel or reschedule by replying.
  • Notice that your laboratory results are ready to view, with a link to sign in. We never send a result itself by text message.
  • One-time codes when you sign in to the patient portal or reset a password.

We never send marketing or promotional messages. Message frequency varies with your own appointments and results. Message and data rates may apply.
